The Karnataka Health Promotion Trust, supported by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, aims at mapping the availability and accessibility of critical maternal, neonatal and child health services in 25 high priority districts of Uttar Pradesh.

KHPT invites applications from committed and competent persons for the following position to facilitate mapping of public /private sector health facilities in 25 districts of Uttar Pradesh (UP).


1. Zonal Mapping Coordinator:  Positions:5, Allahabad, Bareilly, Bahraich, Farrukhabad, Siddharth Nagar

Qualifications and Skills Specification:

  • M.S.W / MPH/M.Sc in Demography /Statistics or any other equivalent degree with to 3-5 years' of demonstrated experience in conducting surveys at health care environments or any other development sectors
  • Knowledge and understanding of concepts, methods, data sources and data uses as applied to large national, regional and state level databases related to Health Sector
  • Ability to co-ordinate, supervise and monitor large scale data collection process, manage a team of field investigators 
  • Experience in Epidemiology and demography is desirable
  • Ability to co-ordinate, supervise and monitor large scale data collection process
  • A team player accustomed to working within a fast-paced and collaborative environment

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Coordinator will be responsible for co-ordinating, monitoring and supervising the mapping of health facilities in their respective zones (approx 5 districts) of Uttar Pradesh (UP). He/ She is expected to identify and recruit eligible field investigators for the mapping process in the zones. Also he/she is expected to conduct training and providing other logistic support required for data collection in their respective districts. 

Reports to: 

The Coordinator will report to the Mapping Coordinator, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

Salary Range:

This position is categorized under managerial band in the salary range of Rs. 25,000/- to Rs. 30,000/- which will be fixed after analyzing the qualification, skills set, relevant experience, interview performance, parity etc

The Karnataka Health Promotion Trust in partnership with India HIV/AIDS Alliance, through the project: KHPT-GFATM-VIHAAN supported by Global Fund Round IV phase II program, aims at improving health and quality of people living with HIV (PLHIV) in Karnataka state.
KHPT invites applications from committed, compassionate and competent persons for the position(s) mentioned below:-


1.      Program Manager :  Bangalore

The Programme Manager will be primarily responsible for the programmatic implementation of the Vihaan project with the goal to improve the survival and quality of life of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) in program implementation areas. S/he will be responsible for managing and providing programmatic, technical and organizational development guidance to the Sub-sub- recipient partners in the implementation districts of the Karnataka state; actively represent and contribute to the planning and policy work on behalf of VIhaan project in the state. The Programme Manager will be responsible for the results of his/her team, supporting senior management in ensuring the overall success of Vihaan project , by managing various working groups , coordinate with the central as well as district teams working on Vihaan project. S/he will also provide inputs for recruitment, appraisal and personal development support for staff.

Qualification and experience

  • Master’s degree in social sciences, health or development field (or equivalent).

At least 3 to 5 years of relevant project management experience in the health or development sectors, including at least 3 years’ middle management experience. Working experience in HIV care and support programs including experience of working with PLHIV and their networks is essential. Excellent analytical, writing and verbal communication skills are required. Should possess strong commitment to HIV/AIDS, PLHIV and sexual and reproductive health and rights.

.      Advocacy Officer :  Bangalore

The Advocacy Officer will be responsible for coordinating state and district level advocacy work, ensure capacity building of partners and other stake holders, and liaise with other team members to ensure community participation and resource mobilization. S/he will be responsible for documentation of advocacy activities of Vihaan project. S/he will disseminate good advocacy practices, working in close consultation with the Programmes team and SSRs.

Qualification and experience

  • Degree in social sciences, health or development field (or equivalent) with at least 2-3 years of relevant project management experience in the health or development sectors.
  • Experience of undertaking advocacy and networking with Govt. and other institutions at State and district levels.
  • Strong analytical skills, facilitation skills to undertake evidence based advocacy. Should possess strong commitment to HIV/AIDS, PLHIV and sexual and reproductive health and rights.

3.    Program Officer :  Bangalore, Dharwad and Koppal

The Programme Officer will be responsible for development and implementation of appropriate programme strategies for Vihaan programme. S/he will contribute to the implementation of the program; ensure effective monitoring, review and evaluation of program against mutually agreed upon project deliverables. S/he will assist in managing any relevant external technical support that may be required for the programmes and Sub-sub-recipients.

Qualification and experience

  • Degree in social sciences, health or development field (or equivalent) with at least 2- 3 years of relevant project management experience in the health or development sectors.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of project management at State levelWith Strong commitment to HIV/AIDS, PLHIV and sexual and reproductive health and rights.
  • Excellent analytical, writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Good computer skills using MS office
  • Ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently.
  • Willingness to undertake travel within the state.

4.    M & E Officer :  Bangalore, Dharwad and Koppal

The M & E Officer is responsible for development and implementation of effective monitoring, review and evaluation strategies of the sub-sub recipients as well as for the VIHAAN project.
S/he will provide support to SSR in devising systems and procedures to ensure donor compliance.

Qualification and experience

  • Degree in Economics, Statistics, Population Studies (Demography), public health or development field (or equivalent) with at least 2/3  years of relevant monitoring and evaluation experience in the health or development sector.
  • At least 2 years working in HIV prevention programmes, including experience working with PLHIV and other marginalised groups
  • Working experience on analytical software packages (SPSS/ STATA)

5.  Training Officer : Dharwad and Koppal

The Training Officer will be responsible for capacity building initiatives for VIHAAN project with an aim to strengthen capacity of NGOs/ SLNs/ DLNs. S/he will coordinate all training programs for the SSRs and liaise with relevant stake holders for such programs. S/he will devise/ innovate effective training methodologies which can be best suited for community level participants.

Qualification and experience

Degree in social sciences, health or development field (or equivalent) with at least 2-3 years of relevant project management experience in the health or development sectors. Experience of providing capacity building of, organisations, especially those working at the community or grassroots level. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of partnerships, principles of NGO support and/or donor environment. Strong commitment to HIV/AIDS, PLHIV and sexual and reproductive health and rights.

6.  Finance Officer : Bangalore, Dharwad and Koppal

The Finance Officer shall provide support to SSR NGOs/DLNs in functional areas of financial management. S/he shall ensure that funds disbursed to SSR NGOs/DLNs are properly accounted.  S/he will work closely with the finance and program team to ensure that donor contractual obligations are complied. Ensure capacity building of SSR NGOs/DLNs in financial Management.

Qualification and experience

  • Bachelor in Commerce with at least 3-4 years of experience in the accounting field
  • Should have at least 2 years' relevant experience in an NGO or health sector. . Demonstrated experience of computerised accounting, especially Tally.
  • Demonstrated experience in compliance with statutory and contractual requirements.
  • Experience of providing technical support to and capacity building of organisations in financial management and statutory and legal compliances.
