Suma and her father share a special bond unlike most others in the village. Suma feels closer to her father than to her mother. There is not a day that she doesn’t share all about her day with her parents. This father-daughter duo is an exception to the stereotypical father-daughter duo in a rural Koppal scenario, where there is minimal communication and bonding. Her father is known to be a peaceful person and is non-discriminatory because he believes that boys and girls are equals. He lives his life by this belief. He also encouraged his wife to pursue social work as a profession. Suma requests her father to sit behind her while she rides her motorbike to the local street. Her father always agrees and patiently allows her to gain confidence. Suma is growing to be a confident girl because she has her father beside her. Suma’s father is a role model to all other men in the village.
