KHPT, in collaboration with Healthium Medtech Limited and the Government of Karnataka, successfully conducted a dissemination workshop on December 20, 2024 to showcase the achievements, challenges, and learnings from the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Pilot Project titled, “Improving Early Childhood Development through a Life Cycle Approach”. Implemented in Kunigal Block of Tumakuru District from April 2022 to December 2024, the project aimed to improve ECCD outcomes by addressing barriers such as malnutrition, inequities in rural access and gaps in health, nutrition, and caregiving services through innovative and community-driven approaches.
The workshop brought together 80 participants, including officials from the Departments of Health and Family Welfare, Women and Child Development (WCD), and Rural Development and Panchayat Raj. Key dignitaries included:

· Dr. Mohan, RCH Officer, Tumakuru District
· Dr. Mariappa, Taluka Health Officer, Kunigal Taluk
· Ms. Bhanu Shiv Kumar and Mr. Harish, representatives from Healthium Medtech
Contributions from Dr. Prarthana, Thematic Lead (MNCH) and Ms. Prathibha Rai, Project Lead, added depth to the discussions. Experiences shared by the Medical Officer, Block-Level Resource Person, frontline worker and Kavalu Samiti President highlighted the project’s community impact.
The workshop provided a platform for stakeholders to share key learnings, outcomes and strategies, celebrating collaboration, innovation and commitment to improving early childhood development outcomes through a life-cycle approach.
