The KM team organized a session for KHPT staff on “Gender Responsive Budgeting , Health and Federalism” as part of its ongoing colloquium series. The session was facilitated by Dr Priyanca Mathur, Head and Associate Professor, School of Humanities and Social Sciences (CERSSE), Jain (Deemed-to-be University), Bengaluru.

Dr Mathur explained gender budgeting attempts and success stories across the globe, and too the team through the history and status of gender budgeting in India. Dr Mathur emphasized the need of not merely formulating a gender budget by the Centre and the state, but the need to see that these budgets percolate down to the local level. The session was followed by an engaging discussion on issues of gender and governance.
