KHPT is a not-for-profit organization which spearheads focused initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of communities in India. In 2003, KHPT was founded with a mission to enhance the health and wellbeing of vulnerable communities and our journey started with the focus on reducing the prevalence of HIV in Karnataka, specifically among most at-risk populations. These interventions were evidence-driven, systematically planned, rigorously implemented, and monitored. We succeeded in scaling impact well beyond Karnataka and KHPT became a learning site for innovative approaches.
The unique DNA of our programs is a combination of evidence generation, grassroots community connect, and strong government relationships. We have extended our decades-long experience to work in Tuberculosis, Maternal, neonatal and child health, Adolescent health, and Comprehensive primary healthcare among a diverse set of communities.
With a team of over 400 committed individuals, we act as a catalyst, driving action to empower the most vulnerable communities, both directly and through strong partnerships across the country. Our bold social ambition is to achieve population-level health impact through strengthening health systems through a variety of approaches which includes digital transformation initiatives.
Empower communities to lead a life of quality, health and well-being.
Reduce inequities through evidence-driven approaches.
Strengthen health systems to achieve population-level impact.
There are multiple challenges that KHPTs interventions are looking to solve, mainly at thematic and sector levels. Our priority is a sharp focus on leadership building, innovative technology integration, strong impact tracking mechanisms and robust governance checks to help navigate these challenges.
KHPT’s model is comprised of three engines that demonstrate pathways to create scalable impact. We deploy the model through our multiple themes functioning across the three engines to create sustainable impact.
