KHPT has received a grant of Rs 7.7 crore from the JSI Research and Training Institute, funded by  USAID’s MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity (M-RITE) initiative, to increase the demand for, distribution and uptake of COVID-19 vaccination. The eight-month project will be implemented in 12 districts of Karnataka, particularly among vulnerable and marginalized populations, with an overall coverage of 2.2 crore people. The aim of the project is to increase awareness about COVID-19 vaccinations among misinformed/hesitant groups in the intervention districts through targeted communications interventions, subsequently increasing the demand for vaccinations. The project also aims to ensure community mobilization and the involvement of local governance structures and community structures in vaccination uptake efforts.
