KHPT presented findings from a formative research study on designing and developing a ‘Healthy City Model’ in Mysuru  at a ‘Chatbox’ session held at the Indian Institute of Human Settlements, Bengaluru on May 11. Gururaj Patil, Director-Strategy and Dr Ambuja Kowlgi, Qualitative Research Lead, presented and contexualized findings from quantitative and qualitative research at the level of  communities, health facility and health systems. KHPT synthesized recommendations from stakeholders across these levels, recommending action within six domains, including improving city governance for health and well-being; creating physical environments supportive of health; minimizing inequalities;  promoting health and a healthy lifestyle; strengthening healthcare delivery and the care continuum, and promoting community development, participation and ownership.
