KHPT presents its research on gender-based violence in rural Karnataka at the Sexual Violence Research Initiative Forum 2022

KHPT made an oral presentation titled “Prevalence and patterns of intergenerational violence among women and girls in rural Karnataka, India,” at the Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) Forum 2022 in Mexico, held between 19- 23 September.

The presentation focused on the prevalence, attitudes, experiences and impact of gender-based violence among adolescent girls and women in the northern Karnataka district of Vijayapura. The team also presented the long-term impacts of a Life Skills Education-based intervention for rural and marginalized adolescent girls.

Mr Mohan HL, CEO, KHPT; Dr Satyanarayana Ramanaik, Thematic Lead Adolescent Health; Dr Maithreyi Ravikumar, Strategic Lead, Adolescent Health, and Dr Aishwarya R, Monitoring and Evaluation Lead, attended the conference.

Forum 2022 is SVRI’s 7th global conference on violence against women and children.
