KHPT launched a #PeriodFriendlyVillage campaign on May 28, Menstrual Hygiene Day, with the aim of encouraging communities to take responsibility for creating a supportive environment for adolescent girls and women, while breaking taboos around menstruation.

As part of the campaign, KHPT organised rallies, Intimate Interactive Theatre shows, Samvadas (dialogues) between adolescent girls and community members, and interactions with district government officials in remote villages across the seven Northern Karnataka districts of Belagavi, Kalaburagi, Raichur, Bagalkot, Vijayapura, Koppal, and Yadgir.

The campaign reached 10,000 community members, including adolescent girls and their families, frontline workers, and government officials.
