KHPT held a baseline dissemination meeting on November 26 with the State TB Cell, Bihar. The baseline study was conducted among urban vulnerable and migrant populations to explore knowledge about TB, health seeking behaviour of the populations, and stigma. One of the key findings shared at the dissemination was the high burden of tuberculosis amongst SC/ST and minority populations within the urban vulnerable and migrants. Speaking at the event, Dr. Mishra, State TB Officer, Bihar, stressed the importance of community-based interventions, and thinking beyond clinical case detection and treatment adherence, if we are to achieve the goal of ending TB by 2025.
News of the event was covered in several local publications, which can be accessed here, here and here.
