KHPT presented three of its innovative approaches through different session formats at the SBCC Summit in Marrakech, Morocco,  from December 5-9. Through a Blue Sky session involving a panel discussion and audience interactions, Ms. Uma Mahadevan, Principal Secretary, Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Government of Karnataka; Mr Udaya Shetty, Gram Panchayat head; Mr Mohan H L, CEO, KHPT, and Ms Mallika Biddappa, Results Delivery Officer, KHPT, discussed experiences in Karnataka of convergence at the lowest levels of governance to address health and social disparities.

At a TED-talk like session on novel approaches to addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Dr Maithreyi Ravikumar, Strategic Lead, Adolescent Health, and Pavitra, a Sphoorthi Role Model Girl talked about the Freedom from Violence campaign and scaling up strategies to prevent GBV.

A multimedia showcase presented by Ms Vrinda Manocha, Communications Manager, highlighted KHPT’s use of IEC material to de-stigmatize and increase the demand for tele-mental health counselling.  The sessions were followed by questions and discussions with conference attendees.
